Michael Ballard owns the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota. The saloon is only open for 10 days every year during the annual biker rally.
Ballard’s event income is not published, but the numbers that are available illustrate the magnitude of the event; 300,000+ patrons during the rally, and 2 tractor trailers full of beer delivered every night to a 30 acre facility. The city of Sturgis alone made $399,642 in 2012 on the rally compared to $197,107 in 2011.
